KITTY PEARSON, the East African policeman who was fatally shot in a confrontation with a dog in 2014, has died.
She was 93.PEARSON was a former police officer and her daughter, DANA PEARSON, wrote an obituary on Facebook.
She had been in the police force for 27 years.
Her death is being treated as a murder investigation and the case is being investigated by the Kenya Police.
Pearsons son, JIM, who was her partner, said in a Facebook post that their daughter was a devoted mother who loved the police.
Pearson, a former African Union peacekeeping officer, was the first female African peacekeeper killed by a foreign police force in Kenya since 1994.
She was the only female Kenyan peacekeeper to be killed in combat.
The East African Police Service, a volunteer-run force, has said it is cooperating with the investigation.
The agency did not respond to requests for comment on Sunday.
