Police in Queensland have said a man found shot and killed in his Brisbane home has died of his injuries.
Police said on Monday that the deceased man had been found in his bedroom.
He was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, where he died of the gunshot wound.
It is believed he had been involved in an altercation with his partner, who also lived in the house.
“The deceased has been deceased since the incident occurred at around 8.30pm yesterday,” a statement from Queensland Police said.
“A Queensland Police Service officer arrived at the scene and pronounced the deceased deceased deceased.”
The man’s partner was also in the home at the time.
Policeman’s son found dead in Brisbane home article A Queensland Police spokeswoman said on Tuesday that a 23-year-old man from Brisbane’s north-west had been charged with failing to comply with a direction and was due to appear in court on Wednesday.
The spokeswoman said police were not yet able to comment on whether the case would be referred to the Independent Commission Against Corruption.
An autopsy is to be conducted to determine the cause of death, but police said the deceased had been in and out of hospital and had not been seen since the shooting.
