A cop in the Italian city of Milan stopped a man and accused him of stealing his phone.
The suspect was arrested and is currently being held on suspicion of theft and drug possession, the Italian newspaper Il Giornale reported.
The man, who is also a police officer, was reportedly driving a white Lexus in Milan on Monday, when he was stopped by the officer, who was driving his unmarked car.
The man reportedly refused to let go of the phone and the cop allegedly threatened to shoot him.
The police officer reportedly pulled out a pistol and told the man to give up his phone, the paper said.
The suspect refused and the officer then fired three shots at the man, wounding him.
According to police, the suspect then ran away.
