A new cop and policeman from the TV show “Simpsons” will appear on the small screen in a TV movie, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The Simpsons cop/policewoman will star in a feature film called “The Simpsons: The Movie,” which will be released in 2018, the publication said Thursday.
The project was written and directed by Michael K. Williams and will be based on a comic book and a short story from Williams’ younger days, the website reported.
Williams is also writing a new TV series, which he said he hopes will be as original as the show itself.
The movie will be produced by Warner Bros. Television.
The script will be a story of the characters from the show.
The new cop/officer is named Detective Homer Simpson, and will have a line of dialogue about how he gets the job of a cop because he likes to help people.
“He’s not like the other cops.
He doesn’t wear glasses or have the glasses, so he can see better, or make more arrests,” Simpson told the website.
“When I started working on the script, I didn’t know the character’s backstory.
I did know the name of the book and the book was about a cop that would make the world a better place.”
